We Did That, With You! Thank You

Last week at the Seeds of Africa school, we distributed essential health items and food parcels to sustain the 250 families we work with that have struggled to make ends meet due to the economic impact of the pandemic.

Funds raised from our “30 Dollars for 30 Days” campaign made this possible. 100 donors contributed to raising over $10,000 to support families with a 30-day basket supply of goods.

Protecting Our Communities

We distributed 1000 liters of cooking oil, 1200 kilograms of rice, and 800 kilograms of lentils in total. For protection against COVID-19 infection, we distributed 1200 bars of hand soap, 250 bottles of sanitizer, and 1800 face masks donated by the Masking The Vulnerable Initiative created to protect vulnerable communities in Ethiopia that cannot social distance.

These supplies will directly support over 1500 people. The families Seeds of Africa serves report suffering severe economic, social and psychological impacts, with most directly mentioning a lack of access to food sources for the family due to job losses and the closures of their small businesses.

Thank You!

We would like to thank the dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to prepare the food parcels and ensure a safe environment for distribution.

Thank you to Yegna Pharmacy for donating hand sanitizer, gloves and masks for the safety of our essential staff on the ground. Thank you to the Masking The Vulnerable Initiative by Addis Ababa-based companies Yenae and Kabana Leather. Thank you to Nigiste Saba for donating proceeds of each watch sale to Seeds of Africa’s 30 Dollars for 30 Days campaign. Thank you to Allure Ethiopia  and Derrick Leung of Amateur Design Co for pro-bono campaign graphic design services.

Most importantly, THANK YOU to all the donors that contributed to our fundraising efforts.

We are all united by a shared desire to protect people in the face of a pandemic. The work continues!
